The results are in…who captured your vote and who is going home…this is American Idol!
Every week we’ve done this, and every week I had some thought as to who might go home…and I’ve really been wrong in previous weeks. There’s still no way that Gina Glocksen should be gone, but she is. Chris Sligh is gone, and he also should still be here. Sanjaya is still here, Phil Stacey is still here…for now.
So the results went down and American Idol petitioned for more time for the rest of the season’s results show, and they got it. Instead of the results shows being 30 minutes, it’s now one hour, and with that, you can bet there’s a lot of filler…and boy was there!
In the end, it was a nice show, and very cool performances from J-Lo and Akon (separately), and a nice segment or two as well. But what we’re here to talk about is the results…so let’s get right to it.
Phil, Haley and Chris in the bottom 3…I could see two of those names coming (Phil and Haley) but again, Sanjaya is safe. I think they got the bottom 2 right though, as after the final 3 were announced, they sent Chris back to the couch. Honestly, based solely on this week’s performances, I think America finally got it right.
Phil and Haley were the weakest two candidates from this week’s show, so I think it’s only right they were the bottom 2. Drum roll please…and it’s time to say goodbye to Haley the Hooker!
Well, I’m sad to say this is it for Haley. I’ll be sad that we won’t get to see her perform on the country music show next week with Martina McBride. I think she would’ve done well. But she wasn’t long for this world.
I see some potential problems for a few of our Final 7 for next week’s episode…country music isn’t easy to pull off for some of these folks, and honestly, this could be the week where Sanjaya finally bites the big one. I could also see LaKisha having an issue. I see Jordin doing well and Melinda will do well.
But that’s for next week! Buh-bye Haley, you’ll be missed!

1My new un-boyfriend is highly distraught that Haley got booted. I still have yet to watch even a single performance or elimination this season. On behalf of the Sanjaya haters, I will say that I am not watching in protest because he is still on.
