Yeah, there's another hurricane, this one bypassed south Florida and is now headed smack dab towards Alabama…and me.
Well…us…I'm not the only one in this state, am I?
So Christy and I got all the stuff off the pool deck, and we're going to finish bringing in all the loose furniture and knick-knacks from outside today. The brunt of the storm is supposed to hit us late tonight and into tomorrow morning. Most of the schools and businesses have closed down for both Thursday and Friday, expecting travel conditions to be too bad to drive. Christy's office is closing for Thursday and Friday as well.
As of this entry, no move to close Cingular has been made. There's another conference call about the weather @ 3pm, and a final decision will be made then. My guess is even if they decide that they are going to be open tomorrow, by the time the weather hits and everything goes down, they'll decide to close down. So why not go ahead and close down now and save people the trouble of having to come into work at all?
Even if they decide to be open, I doubt many would show…most people here have kids whose daycares and schools are closing down, so they'd need to be home with them. Besides, if the worst comes through, where do you wanna be…work or home? Well, work if you live in a trailer…
