Did they impress us? Did they impress you? This is American Idol!
I have to give it to them…they are at least finding creative ways to give us the results. For a while, it was very predictable. They would stick the bottom 3 (or 2 as in last night’s show) together on either end of the seating, either on the top row or bottom row. That meant it was fairly easy to determine who was in and who was out. I thought for sure when they sat Sanjaya and Stephanie together at the end of the top row, they’d both be in the bottom 3…I was half right.
After a bit of a spastic show (Peter Noone’s performance was just odd and Lulu’s boobs cost more than me and my wife’s wardrobes combined), the results were in…and it was Stephanie Edwards and Chris Richardson. That’s it…they kept referring to a “bottom 3″ but it was a “bottom 2″ instead.
Again…Sanjaya = safe. I have to say, I’m not really surprised. You combine the fact that Tuesday’s performance was probably his best to date (which btw isn’t saying much) and the whole “Vote for the Worst” crap floating around the Internets and talk radio, it’s no wonder he was safe. And now that he’s made the Top 10, he’ll be included in the traveling road show that will be the American Idol Tour 2007. Are you seriously kidding me with that?
I figured that Stephanie was in a bit of trouble, but I figured it’d be a slow downturn for her, something that might take a week or two more before she was voted out. Boy was I wrong. She seemed to take it in stride, amazingly so as a matter of fact. Chris was really relieved. That surprised me that he was in the bottom 2, it seemed he was a judge’s favorite for most of the competition.
So we’re down to the Top 10 now…not sure yet what the theme of next week’s show is (thanks Charter DVR!) but it should be interesting as always!
