I hope you know…that this is nothing to do with you…
Okay Gina…I know it’s late, but it’s growing on me.
By the way…we’re under 2 weeks now until the Trip of a Lifetime. It seems ages ago that I told the world about this trip. I’m going to be blogging a bit on this trip, so I’ll try and update it at least once every other day with a chronicle of our adventures.
The new TV season started this week, and already waiting on me on the DVR at home is the premiere of Heroes. According to some who’ve...

The countdown is officially under a month to go until the Trip of a Lifetime! Christy and I are pumped…I mean, really psyched!
On the “not psyched” list is the VCO softball team I’m managing…we have a problem with the girls not showing up or just out and out quitting. It’s discouraging, and it makes me never want to mess with anything like this again.
In the category of “things that are back to how they should be”…Auburn lost it’s football over the weekend and Auburn fans everywhere are already...

From one knucklehead to another

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before the pundits and idiots alike had their say with regards to the Michael Vick/dog-fighting case. In case you all have been living under a rock for the past 3 months, Vick has agreed to plead guilty to all the charges in his indictment in hopes that the federal judge will go lenient in sentencing. Most of the so-called experts have said that they expect Vick to be handed a sentence of around 12-18 months in jail. This would mean the very earliest we could see Vick in an NFL jersey again would be the 2008 season,...

Moral Victories
Posted by Mattie in blogosphere, friendships, music, online folks, sports, the coolness, the day to day, work on 08 22nd, 2007 | No Comments
I’ve never been a big believer in moral victories. In fact, I just had a quick conversation with a co-worker where he talked about the fact that moral and morale are the same. They aren’t, by the way.
Last night, the VCO Dominators (our co-ed company softball team) were in action against Mountain Top Church. The Dominators rushed out to a 2-0 lead behind a 2-run single by SS Mark Massey. After getting MTC 1-2-3 in the 1st and 2nd, we failed to score and then the roof caved in. They scored 2 runs in the 3rd, and 10 runs in the 4th…and...

I’ve really yet to come down on the fence either way with the Michael Vick/dog-fighting mess that’s plagued the Falcons this summer. But now it appears as if Vick will plead guilty to the charges in hopes that he could receive a smaller punishment for his crimes. This was coming for a while now, since the three other men charged in the case all rolled on him and accepted plea deals of their own.
Vick is likely to face jail time, although it is now significantly less time than he would’ve faced if he had gone ahead with the trial and...

The weekend that was…#34
Posted by Mattie in blogosphere, friendships, music, online folks, sports, the coolness, the day to day on 08 6th, 2007 | No Comments
Here to recap this weekend’s events in celebration of my 34th birthday, it’s me.
Friday night started off innocently enough…went to the Red Line to have a few drinks in farewell to a co-worker who was leaving to take a job in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. That was fun…smashed a few back and lost in Golden Tee. After the drinks, I drove (carefully) to Zyng and got appies with the Better Half and then got a grocery list together and headed to Publix.
I purchased all the goodies for the cook-out on Saturday and went home and got the ribs ready...
