The Stash
Okay, so I’m now going to let you all know what I got for Christmas…and it’s quite the stash!
(And for those that think it’s bragging, get over yourself…it’s Christmas, and chances are we’re all blessed beyond belief. I just like sharing.)
Okay, I got 3 sweaters, 2 from Old Navy, and 1 from Eddie Bauer. I got two jackets, one of those down jackets from Old Navy, and Christy got me a fleece jacket from Old Navy as well (you’ll see a theme developing here). I got 8 t-shirts, a few long sleeve ones as well, most from Old Navy. I got two pairs of pajama pants, one with Corona Extra symbols all over them. I got a few accessories for my Xbox 360, a wireless network adapter and a wireless controller (giving me two). I also received UAB season tickets for basketball (which I got about two weeks ago, the games started already). I got a new 12-cup coffee maker with timer on it, wireless headphones for the TV (which are OUTSTANDING, from Sharper Image), a few books, a new insulated travel coffee mug, 2 gift cards to Best Buy, one gift card to Old Navy (see, there’s that pattern again), a sweatshirt that says McLean University on it (love that!). I got one button-down shirt and two golf shirts that have Alabama script “A”s on them. I got some chocolate candy in my stocking along with some microwavable nuts. I got a sweat-proof Alabama tumbler (a big one), and I got a cool Scotland calendar.
Okay, I think that’s it…again, I am extremely blessed, and thanks to my family for getting me all this great stuff!
Christy got a bunch of great stuff too…I mean to say we’re blessed in a way that’s hard to describe. But it was great fellowshipping with family these last two days.
So are you serious that I have to go back to work tomorrow? Ugh!
Blogger Leaves Beta
The popular blog-creation tool, Blogger, has moved now from beta to final release, and they’ve put together a brand new tool to help you create and maintain your space in the blogosphere. Of course, Blogger is a part of the Google family, and Google has made it fashionable to keep things in “beta” for long periods of time. So this is a step in a different direction for them. Shoot, Gmail is still technically in “beta” even though I know I’ve been using it for 3+ years myself and I was late getting to the party.
Personally, I think for your Windows PC, Wordpress still can’t be beat for functionality and ease of use. And if you other Wordpressers haven’t already done so, go get Tiger Admin v3.0 for your Wordpress admin area. This is outstanding stuff for the Wordpress folks out there, and it is a tremendous improvement over the 2.0 version.
coming soon…venturetone.com!
I’ve decided that it’s time to venture into the Land of More-Than-One-Blog, and while I maintain that I still won’t do this blog justice, I plan on putting some thought and effort into the new one I’ve started up which will be entitled “VentureTone”, cleverly located at venturetone.com.
The point of this website will be to promote the entertainment side of me…things like music, games, movies, books, etc. I’ll throw up thoughts on all these things on a regular basis in hopes that my own trials and tribulations will assist those in the process of purchasing or obtaining of these things.
And so I hope you’ll all stop by and check out venturetone.com when it’s up and running. I plan on using RapidWeaver on my Mac to build the site, so I’m excited about how (allegedly) easy it will be to do.
Macheist reaches it’s goal!
And there was much rejoicing.
Yay.
Over at Macheist, they reached their goal of $100,000 given to charity and as a result, both NewsFire and TextMate have been unlocked for all those who purchased the bundle. I’m most excited about NewsFire, as I was looking for a cool RSS program, and this is now it. And several friends of mine swear by TextMate, so I’ll be excited to get into that as well.
Stupid me though…the Pangea game you could pick…I picked one I forgot I already had. Dufus!
Oh, and I noticed something was going on at 9rules this afternoon…only one update in the main section…odd. I hope Scrivs knows.
Get your goodie bag now…Macheist!
So I started to participate in the Macheist recently, but lost interest. It was a decent little event, but the goodies that you now can obtain is ridiculous. If you head over to the website, all you Mac users can buy a Macheist bundle for $49, and it includes 10 great software programs, 2 of which are ‘locked’ until a certain amount of money is reached. They are donating a lot of the money to charity, so it’s a way to give back and get some great stuff in return.
So head on over to www.macheist.com and grab your bundle!
