What I Know (Oct 2009 SEC Football Edition)
Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 5:51AM
* I know that Alabama is the most complete football team, top to bottom, in the league.
* I know Florida will get tested against LSU next week simply because it's in Death Valley at night, but Tebow will pull them through and UF will remain undefeated.
* I know Auburn is playing lights out right now, way above what their talent suggests they should be playing at, and while that's got Auburn fans excited right now, they still have the teeth of their schedule coming up, with road games against Arkansas, LSU, and Georgia, and home games against Ole Miss and Alabama. Try and rein in that excitement on the Plains just a tad bit, okay Auburn fans?
* I know that Mississippi State is the worst team in the SEC, but Tennessee is not far behind, and UT has the worst QB in the league in Jonathan Crompton. He can't make throws that most middle school QBs can make. And how bad must Nick Stephens be (the backup QB at UT) to not make the field against Auburn?
* I know that Randall Cobb has NFL written all over him. The guy can make plays from multiple positions and is a real athlete. I see him making a huge impact in the NFL.
* I know that things are looking down for Georgia, and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back from this year. They still have some tough games on their schedule (Florida, Georgia Tech, Auburn) and 5-6 losses is not out of the realm of possibility for them. I wonder how much patience the Bulldog faithful will have in Mark Richt?
* I know Ole Miss is NOT as good as advertised, but I know that Houston Nutt will have them ready to play against Alabama. He will preach that this is their chance to get back into the BCS picture and show what Ole Miss is made of. I expect a very close game in Oxford next Saturday.
* I know that Ryan Mallett is a great QB, and how great he is only magnifies how good the Alabama defense must be to hold him down like they did two weeks ago. He lit up an undefeated (albeit untested) Texas A&M team for 4 TD passes.
That'll do it for this edition of What I Know...tune in next time! :)
