American Idol - Reaction to Top 9 Results Show

So this review of the results show is a bit late in going up because Christy and I went to see Spamalot at the BJCC Concert Hall last night as part of our “Broadway Across America” 2007-2008 season.  Spamalot was friggin’ hilarious (I love British humor) and they really were able to add a flair to the legend that is Monty Python.  If you have a chance to see this show, you really should fork over the cash and go.  My favorite song “You Won’t Succeed On Broadway If You Don’t Have Any Jews!”  Classic.

Oh, and one more note about last night…Christy and I usually try to grab dinner out before the show since it’s rather late when we get home from these things, and last night we tried a restaurant we’d never been to before…Mudtown.  It’s a relatively small restaurant (inside there are probably 15 tables or so, plus a bar, and outside about 3-4 tables and a row of stools along the porch’s edge), but they really have their act together at this place.  Great food, very cool atmosphere, and a nice staff…go see ‘em at Mudtown.

Anyway, we finally get home around 11:00pm or so, and sit down to watch the results show.  Let me first say that the Clark Brothers (or whoever they are) were terrible.  I mean, they actually won a competition with that crap?!?  Clearly Simon Cowell wasn’t involved.  He’d have sent them packing the first time they started that screaming crap on stage.

Interesting way they did the eliminations this week, with the first three people safe, and then sending Ramiele and Kristy Lee to the stools (c’mon KLC, you’re not funny with that stupid little sign you made…I wish you’d go away!).  Interesting that Brooke was in the Bottom 3 this week.  I sort of thought she did…wait…that Bottom 3 is exactly how I predicted it…wow…pretty cool that.  Sorry Christy and April K., I couldn’t resist!

Of course, Ryan sends Brooke to safety quickly, and she is mighty relieved.  And Ramiele is leaving us this week…well, I have to say I predicted that as well.  I didn’t like her song all that much, although she didn’t sing it poorly.  It’s just we’re now at the part of the competition where it just gets really tough to survive on “okay” or “pretty good”…you’ve really got to be great, or you could be gone.  And she just wasn’t.

BTW, I’m not sure I categorize KLC as a Sanjaya.  Sanjaya was increasingly annoying with his hairdos and his performances were even worse than KLC’s…I mean, Kristy’s got a little talent, she’s just not at the same level as the Top 6 are in my opinion.  If America will do us a favor and get rid of Syesha and Kristy Lee Cook, we might actually have ourselves one helluva Top 6 show…I mean, maybe the best ever…

What an idiot KLC is with that whole sign thing. Seriously? You’re stupid.

Okay fine…deep down I thought it might be Brooke in the bottom 3, but I was really hoping for Syesha!!! I completely agree though, with KLC and Syesha out, the top 6 would be awesome!

I agree, I thought it was Ramiele or KLC or even Castro to go this week…I love Michael Johns and David Cook! They are my picks…for the girls it would be Carley. You are right in that this season is very tight with the talent, it can be anyone’s game at this point.
